If one speculator of the technology industry is to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy S2 will have an update to the Ice Cream Sandwich on the 1st of March.

Eldar Murtazin, the usual tweeter of any subject relating to technology mentioned in his blog that Android 4.0, otherwise known as the Ice Cream Sandwich Operating System will be officially available for the Samsung Galaxy S2 beginning March 1. He further added that the date of the highly expected upgrade will depend on the users’ countries and network operators. Moreover, he said that Android 4.0’s bump will be available as an update over the air or by utilizing the Kies software of Samsung.

Murtazin does not mention the specific sources of his information and he has his own share of predictions that do not always end up right. He recently sent a link of an image via tweeter of what the new Samsung Galaxy phone will look like. However, it was taken as merely a false Photoshop image.

Yet, even if the Samsung Galaxy S2 will not get an update by March 1, it will surely occur anytime soon. The Norway branch of Samsung has already expressed that it will update the Samsung Galaxy Note and the Samsung Galaxy S2 in quarter one of 2012. This means that the latest time for it to have the Android 4.0, ICS OS will be the end of March.

Murtazin made a follow up tweet saying that the Galaxy Note will have an update to the Ice Cream Sandwich between March and May. The best thing for Samsung to do at the moment is to stop the misery of the owners and tell them upfront on when the update will truly be available.

Christy Wyatt, the big cheese of Motorola, put the blame on hardware she considers as diverse and complex for the slow rate of Ice Cream Sandwich updates.
